We’re going to talk about: how do you add images to product records. This is especially useful with Salesforce CPQ, but it’s an interesting use case even outside of CPQ. So I followed along with this tutorial to come up with a functioning use case. And I’m going to walk you through it.
So here we have all of our images in our QuoteLine editor inside of our line configuration screen. These images have been pulled in through a formula on the QuoteLine. Revenue Cloud allows for these formulas on the QuoteLine level.
So this is the formula. It’s not as scary as it looks. Our formula starts off with a case statement. And this case is looking at the product code. So based on what the product code is, we’re going to have a variety of different images. Salesforce Revenue Cloud Consulting often involves formulas like this
So if the product code is Canvas Backpack, then the image that we’re going to have is this image. And if the product code is PotionM1, we’re going to have this image show up over here. You might be asking, where did I get this long URL from? I got that long URL over from our documents. So if I were to right click and say copy image address, that copy image address is the URL that I’m using in this formula.
This is a text formula, although it’s displaying an image, it is a text formula. And with this formula, I can use it on the quote object, or the quote line object, but I can also use it on the product object too. So, once we have this formula set up, we are going to be able to add it to our Quoteline Editor.
We’re going to do that by going to our Quoteline field set and then clicking on Line Editor. Inside of this Line Editor, you can customize any of the fields that show up over there, and I put Image first. We can see that that’s how things are displaying over here in our Salesforce CPQ. We have Image first, and this is pulling in the image formula that displays the pictures of the products.
